Montgomery County's Economic Development Authority voted to approve a performance agreement that will reimburse up to $150,000 in utility connection fees if a company named in the meeting packet makes a planned $3 million investment in a 12,000-square-foot building and machinery.
The resolution, included in the board packet and introduced after the authority came out of closed session, describes the EDA's commitment to reimburse connection costs for water, sewer, electric, gas and fiber. The reimbursement must be used by December 2027, staff said during the meeting.
The company cited in the packet was referred to variously in the discussion as "Mel," "Mil" and once as "Milk." The packet language and board discussion did not settle a single, consistent spelling or provide an address; staff said the company would make the $3 million investment as a condition of the EDA's reimbursement.
Board members moved to approve the resolution, the motion was seconded and members voted in favor by voice vote.
The action in the meeting record does not identify the motion maker, the seconder or a roll-call vote tally; the authority's packet contains the full resolution text, and staff said the payment cap is $150,000 to be applied to connection fees.
Next steps: staff will process the performance agreement as written in the packet and monitor that the investment and connection work meet the agreement's conditions before reimbursement is made.
