The California Senate confirmed three gubernatorial appointees on June 16 following brief floor presentations and roll-call votes. Julie Lee was confirmed for reappointment as chair of the Delta Stewardship Council; Anne Patterson was confirmed to the same council; and Santa Cruz County Sheriff Christopher Clark was confirmed to the Board of State and Community Corrections.
Senator Groves introduced the nominees and noted that each had been approved by the Senate Rules Committee on June 3. Senator McNerney and others spoke in support of the nominees for the Delta Stewardship Council, with McNerney urging attention to alternatives to the Delta Tunnel.
"File item 17 is a confirmation of Julie Lee for reappointment to the Delta Stewardship Council, where she currently serves as the chair," Senator Groves said, asking for an aye vote. The chamber then proceeded to roll‑call confirmation votes. The appointment of Julie Lee was confirmed (Ayes 39; Noes 0). Anne Patterson’s appointment was likewise confirmed (Ayes 39; Noes 0).
Senator Grove introduced Christopher Clark for appointment to the Board of State and Community Corrections and noted his local support and prior service. Senator Laird described Clark as "my hometown sheriff" and urged an I vote. After the roll call, Clark’s appointment was confirmed (Ayes 36; Noes 0).
All confirmations proceed to the standard administrative processing after the Senate’s roll-call approvals.
