Princeton council adopts ordinance raising certain cemetery burial fees

Princeton's City Council adopted ordinance O-26-014, amending chapter 4 section 7-4-8 of the city code to adjust burial charges, on its second and final reading.

The mayor summarized the change as an effort to "adjust our fees on certain things in the cemetery department to reflect the increase in cost of doing business." No council questions were recorded before the council voted to adopt the ordinance.

The ordinance was presented as a housekeeping and cost-recovery measure for cemetery operations; the council recorded the motion, second and a roll-call vote with all members present indicating approval. The ordinance will take effect per the city code's timing for adopted ordinances and will appear on the city website once codified.
