During its June 15 work session, the Limestone County Commission approved a set of personnel actions including promotions and new hires across county departments.
Promotions announced included Brianna Baker from building service worker tech to building service worker (full time); Mark Herd from sergeant (jail) to corrections lieutenant; Matthew Hayes from lieutenant (jail operations) to corrections captain and jail administrator (effective June 15); Dustin Balkam from corporal (jail) to correction sergeant (effective June 15); Bradley Broadway from deputy sheriff to school resource officer (effective July 2); Corey Crouch from deputy sheriff to assigned investigations deputy (effective July 2); and Shelby Defo from corrections corporal to corrections officer retroactive to June 5.
New hires listed included Mark Howard and Eric Adams as corrections officers effective June 15; Kaylee Johnson as corrections officer effective June 15; Beth Matthysse as a temporary part-time van driver effective June 15; and Chris Crabel as a solid waste driver effective June 29. The chair thanked longtime staff member Tammy in light of an anticipated retirement and said the promotions are intended to prepare staff to assume additional responsibilities.
Commissioners did not raise objections during the work session; the transcript lists effective dates for most promotions and hires but does not show a roll-call vote in the work session record.
