The CHSD 99 Board of Education voted unanimously June 15 to approve a memorandum of understanding with the Village of Downers Grove for School Resource Officer services.
Superintendent Hank said the agreement had been discussed at prior meetings and that no follow-up questions had been received since the last review. "I've received no follow-up questions and there are no changes in it," Hank said before the board took action.
The motion to approve the MOU was moved and seconded; roll-call votes were recorded and the motion carried. Board members who responded during roll call included Chris Espinosa, Ken Dawson, Michael Riskey, Cara Casten, Katie Courtourtney and Don Rener.
Board discussion on this item was brief; the administration presented the agreement for final approval and did not offer amendments on the floor. The board did not record additional conditions or implementation deadlines during the vote.
The approval continues a partnership between the district and the village to provide SRO services at district schools. The board moved on to other items on the agenda after the vote; the administration did not signal any immediate changes to the operational terms of the MOU following approval.
The board then proceeded to consider other returning items on the agenda, including handbook approvals and financial resolutions.
