At the June 15 meeting, the CHSD 99 Board of Education publicly recognized several long‑serving staff members who will leave the district this summer.
The board honored Tony (director of technology services), praising his leadership in technology and cybersecurity work and noting he will take a director role elsewhere. "Tony has been with us for quite a long time and has been essential in leading our work forward not just in technology in the district but in the area of cyber security," a board speaker said.
Dr. Travis Maguire was acknowledged for three years of service; the board said he will become superintendent at a nearby district (Center Cass). The board noted his contributions to safety, facilities and revenue generation during his tenure.
Julie Naidk, the board secretary and district historian, received thanks for her years of service and support to board operations. The board also recognized Gina Zakardi, associate superintendent, for her leadership in curriculum, instruction and district initiatives. Board members repeatedly praised Zakardi’s expertise and influence across the district.
Remarks highlighted staff contributions to district operations and student success; departing staff offered brief thanks in response. The board’s recognitions were ceremonial and no formal personnel actions were taken on these items at the meeting.
