Greensboro names Don Worn and Amanda Lamert to lead finance and communications

Rosemary Plibon, host of FYI Weekly, announced that the City of Greensboro has appointed Don Worn as Financial and Administrative Services Director and Amanda Lamert as Communications and Marketing Director.

Plibon summarized Worn's background, saying he previously served as Finance Director for Guilford County Government and earlier as Finance Director for Buncombe County, after many years in finance administration with local governments in Colorado. The city said Worn brings more than 20 years of experience in local government financial management and will oversee procurement services, the Office of Business Opportunity, treasury, financial reporting, accounting, and collections.

Plibon said Amanda Lamert joins the city after serving as Chief Communications Officer for Winston‑Salem Forsyth County Schools and that she previously spent eight years in the City of Greensboro's Communications and Marketing Department. Lamert was described as bringing more than 20 years of experience in journalism, communications, marketing, and community engagement; as Communications and Marketing Director she will oversee the city's communications, media relations, crisis communications, digital engagement, Greensboro Television Network, Contact Center, and Print and Mail Operations.

Plibon closed the announcement by welcoming both new directors to the city administration.
