Greensboro highlights summer concerts, lake recreation and Guilford County Schools' graduate outcomes

Dave, a presenter on FYI Weekly, listed upcoming entertainment and family events including Darius Rucker at White Oak Amphitheater (June 18), Elmo's Got the Moves at the Tanger Center (June 19), the Greensboro History Museum Juneteenth Bike Tour (June 20), and comedian Josh Johnson's shows (June 20). Rosemary Plibon encouraged residents to consider Greensboro's three lakes — Lake Higgins, Lake Brandt and Lake Townsend — for summer recreation, noting boating rentals, paddleboards, hiking trails and scheduled fishing events at Country Park and pointing listeners to greensboro‑nc.gov/lakes.

Plibon also reported that the Guilford County Schools class of 2026 earned more than $200 million in scholarships, completed more than 230,000 service‑learning hours (described in the broadcast as an $8 million impact on the local economy), took more than 11,000 college courses (saving families an average of $18,000 in tuition), and that seniors in teaching pathway programs received job offers for the third consecutive year.
