Haskell County Commissioners met and approved a series of routine personnel and fiscal items, including several assessor appointments, a juvenile detention service agreement and transfers of appropriations, the board recorded.
During roll call, Commissioners Clark McClary, Larry Watson and Bailey Cloud were present. The chair opened the meeting, noted compliance with the Open Meeting Act and led the board in the Pledge of Allegiance.
The board approved the proceedings from the previous meeting by unanimous roll-call vote. Commissioners then reviewed a workers' compensation resolution for fiscal year 2026–27 and chose payment option one after staff confirmed funds; Holly, a county staff member, advised the board to "go ahead and get it out of the way," and the motion passed on a unanimous vote.
Commissioners approved a juvenile detention service agreement between Oklahoma Juvenile Justice Service and Haskell County and approved the assessor's disaster recovery plan for fiscal year 2026–27. The board appointed Amanda J. Welch as the assessor's first deputy (Resolution 312643) and approved Resolution 312644 naming requisitioning and receiving agents (listed in the record as Kina Barbie, Amanda Welch, Rebecca Hatfield and Anne HS). Resolution 312645 appointing a second deputy (transcribed as Katrina Barbie) also passed.
Other routine actions included approval of Resolution 312647 to dispose of an HP LaserJet printer, designation of an emergency-management purchase card holder (Shane), and approval of the monthly purchase-card payment paperwork. The board reviewed appropriations, transfers and checks to be paid and approved them on roll call.
During the public-comment period staff introduced reporter Brooklyn Win as a new reporter who will cover local beats for area newspapers. One speaker noted the court docket schedule for the following day and said the judge and district attorney had agreed to continue cases; county offices would remain open while some employees attend training in El Reno.
The board discussed Resolution 312642, which would amend current Haskell County courthouse holidays, but a commissioner recommended no action after noting the excise board could not meet to sign off; the board took no action on that resolution. The meeting concluded with a motion, second and unanimous vote to adjourn.
