Millis approves FY27 roadway contract, plans paving of several streets

The Millis Select Board voted unanimously on June 15 to authorize the town administrator to sign an agreement with JH Lynch Sons for FY27 roadway management, covering rehabilitation and paving work on several local streets.

The DPW director described the scope — including Norfolk Road, Vancake Road, Baltimore Street, Cedar Street and Causeway Street — and said the town will use Chapter 90 funds plus town appropriations allocated at the last town meeting. The director said particularly damaged sections (e.g., Norfolk Road and Baltimore Street) will be pulverized and repaved; other streets will receive treatments intended to extend their service life.

Board members thanked DPW staff and noted the work responds to a multiyear capital plan; staff said construction is scheduled to start on July 1. The board approved the contract authorization by voice vote.

The contract amount was read from the packet during the meeting; the board authorized signing the agreement as presented in the packet. Final invoicing and project schedules are the responsibility of DPW and the contractor; staff said they will report updates to the board as work progresses.
