The Charleston City Council approved a package of routine development and maintenance items after staff presentations and brief council questions.
Items approved included: dedication of roughly 10,000 linear feet for Dale Web Phase 2 (about 233 lots); dedication of about 2,500 linear feet for Rats Cove Townhomes (55 lots); a county-led intersection improvement at Riverland and Central Park Road that requires a boardwalk as a DOT pedestrian amenity and the city's agreement to maintain that boardwalk once it is installed; acceptance of a 10-foot multi-use path easement on Maybank Highway for a new two-story office building; a memorandum of agreement to reimburse the city for third-party stormwater review costs for the Kore(a) Square 3 development; an increase of $150,000 in the professional services contract with Aura Group Inc. to cover third-party review costs; and an amendment with a management consulting firm to support stormwater utility account management for the 2027 billing period.
All items were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote during the meeting. Councilors asked a few clarifying questions about maintenance obligations and budgets; staff indicated the Aura Group increase was already budgeted and that the stormwater consulting amendment was timed to support upcoming county billing deadlines.
The package required no additional action beyond the approvals recorded in the meeting.
