During the public-comment portion of the June 15 meeting, resident Dan Fuches asked the council for an update on an executive-session police personnel matter and the legal costs the township has incurred.
Council members and the president said they could not discuss the matter because it is an ongoing investigation involving the state Attorney General and pending judicial processes. "We cannot address any of it because it's a private session. It's an ongoing investigation," the council president said.
Fuches raised figures he had seen reported publicly about monthly legal costs; council members declined to provide a substantive fiscal update at the meeting, noting that until the judicial process concludes they are constrained from public comment. One council member referenced a recent outside municipal case (Roselle) in discussing possible civil-service outcomes but emphasized no determination had been reached in Clark.
The council's public response at the meeting was limited to procedural remarks explaining the restriction on public disclosure; no action, hearing or vote was announced during the session to change that confidentiality posture.
