The Mount Hope Town Board on June 15 approved a set of infrastructure and contract actions and put a pending recreational grant decision on hold.
The board voted to accept a lower vendor quote for emergency repairs at the Hidden Valley pump station after engineers recommended the lower bid; the packet lists a Precision Upkeep LLC quote of $11,350 while a motion during the meeting verbally referenced $1,350, an inconsistency staff said they would clarify. The board carried the motion to award the work to Precision Upkeep LLC.
The board also approved a quote of $3,887 to install a Spectrum/ITC wireless bridge and cable modem at the pavilion to provide reliable internet service for event streaming and camera connectivity; the new monthly service rate of $65 was noted as lower than the town’s current $109 plan.
Separately, the board approved an amendment to the Highway 284 agreement to add Section H — a 1.10‑mile fibermat resurfacing on Shotty Hollow Road — for $61,952. Board members said the addition was made possible by recent state budget changes and an escalation in material costs.
Bids for the Mount Hope Senior Center pickleball courts were opened but were not awarded. Board members said asphalt and construction prices are higher than expected and that the town is awaiting confirmation of additional Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds; the board voted to table the pickleball award until the July 6 meeting when grant amounts should be clear.
