The Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors on June 15 approved routine business including claims, monthly fee reports and a county resolution listing tax-credit pass-throughs authorized by the state.
During the meeting Sandy explained the state-determined amounts for the tax credits listed in Resolution 2026-42 and noted the homestead property tax credit is fully funded this year but will be phased out over the next two years. The board adopted Resolution 2026-42 by voice vote.
The board also approved the clerk’s and sheriff’s monthly fee reports and moved to accept the claims as presented. Members voted by voice on each motion; no roll-call tallies were provided during the meeting.
The county treasurer presented two petitions to enforce unpaid taxes on properties in Gracious Estates and Wooded Estates. Supervisors approved the motions to proceed. Supervisor Nikki asked whether the Gracious Estates property would be demolished; the treasurer said the property had been awarded for tax-abatement procedures but was not yet scheduled for demolition.
A fireworks permit requested by Mr. Lindsay was approved after the board confirmed the applicant’s insurance was in order. The board also approved temporary road closures for the Clear Lake Triathlon on B35 and Southshore from 7 a.m. to noon and accepted the county engineer’s standard detour plan.
The meeting record shows these items were approved by voice vote with members responding 'I' to indicate assent. The board then moved on to other agenda items.
