Marshall County approves $86,600 engineering contract for Michigan Road bridge

Marshall County commissioners approved execution of a consulting contract with USI consultants for engineering on Bridge 2540 (Michigan Road over the CSX railroad) after USI business development representative Katie Wiker described the scope and reimbursement.

Wiker told the board that INDOT had approved the contract and that the total contract amount for the engineering phase is $86,600; she said the project is eligible for 80/20 reimbursement, which would cover most costs during construction phases.

A commissioner moved and seconded to approve the contract for the county to execute; the motion carried by voice vote.

The board asked for the number to be included in the motion and confirmed that the contract requires three signatures for execution. Wiker said she would be available to answer follow-up questions as the project advances.
