Burbank mayor outlines four items for June 16 council meeting

Mayor Tamila Takahashi on Monday issued a mayor's minute announcing four items that the Burbank City Council will consider at its Tuesday, June 16 meeting.

Takahashi identified two public hearings on the agenda: adoption of the annual action plan for the Community Development Block Grant program for the upcoming fiscal year (the mayor's message states "fiscal year 2627") and adoption of the city’s 2025 Urban Water Management and water shortage contingency plan.

The council will also consider placing a transient occupancy tax measure on the Nov. 3 ballot. If approved by the council for placement on the ballot, the measure would ask voters whether to change the local transient occupancy tax; Takahashi's announcement did not include details of the proposed rate or ballot language.

Finally, Takahashi said the council will discuss the attendance record of an appointed committee member; she did not name the committee or the member in the announcement.

Takahashi directed residents to the city website for the complete agenda and staff reports and said a live stream will be available on Spectrum channel 6, AT&T channel 99 and the city's YouTube page.

The mayor's minute was an announcement of items to appear on the council agenda; no votes or formal actions were taken in the message itself. The council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16; the agenda and staff reports on the city website will contain the documents and any staff recommendations for each item.
