At the June 11 meeting the Foxborough Planning Board received a departmental update from Town Planner Catherine covering several administrative items and upcoming outreach.
Catherine said the planning office will post a vacancy for an alternate member of the planning board and invited interested residents to contact the office or stop by Town Hall. She said a small business sign program is now open and that the town submitted a community planning grant application through the state one‑stop portal to support the R15 update.
She listed three upcoming community engagement events to gather public feedback: July 14 at 6:30 p.m., July 22 at 11:30 a.m., and July 27 at 6:30 p.m. "Hopefully we can hit a couple different slices of the community," Catherine said, adding the sessions will solicit input on what elements of the R15 update are causing the most concern and whether an overlay district or changes to the underlying zoning would be preferable.
Catherine warned the office will operate with reduced staffing during World Cup events and noted the conservation agent is on leave following the birth of a child. She said she expects to circulate draft planning board rules and regulations for board comment by the end of June.
Procedural items handled: the board approved the minutes from May 28 and confirmed that two upcoming meetings (June 25 and July 9) were canceled because of lack of hearings and scheduling conflicts.
