Board approves limited food-truck service on 8th Street during Farmers Market

Danielle Heights asked the Board of Works for permission to place food trucks at the Farmers Market on 8th Street, saying organizers hoped to start with one truck, possibly two, as an added attraction and intended to use parking spaces or, if the lot is full, street-side placement with service windows facing the sidewalk.

Board members asked about the precise location (the north side of the market along 8th Street), parking and whether the construction department or public safety had concerns. A board member suggested approving the inclusion of food trucks along 8th Street during the market; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.

The board recorded no objections and directed staff to implement the approved placement plan and coordinate with relevant departments on safety and parking enforcement.
