The Oglethorpe County Board of Elections and Registration reviewed December 2024 voter-registration figures and finalized its 2025 meeting and election calendar at its Jan. 6, 2025 meeting.
Marilyn Huff-Waller, presenting the election-staff report on behalf of Steve McCannon, said the county had 11,567 active voters and 744 inactive voters in December 2024, a total of 12,311. The report showed a gain of six active voters and a decrease of 16 inactive voters, for a net decrease of 10 voters overall; a handout was referenced for the full report.
The staff also circulated the boards proposed 2025 meeting schedule (Jan. 6; Feb. 3; Mar. 3; Apr. 7; May 5; June 20 at 3:00 p.m.; July 18 at 3:00 p.m.; Aug. 4; Sept. 8; Oct. 6; Nov. 7; Dec. 1, with most meetings at 9:00 a.m.) and announced a regional meeting in Greene County on Feb. 6, 2025.
Election dates and early-voting windows for 2025 were summarized: the Public Service Commission election is set for June 17, 2025 (early voting May 27
June 13); the primary runoff is scheduled for July 15, 2025 (early voting July 7
July 12); and the general election is Nov. 4, 2025 (early voting Oct. 13
Oct. 31). Staff also noted the Georgia Association of Voter Registration and Elections Officials (GAVREO/GAVERO) conference Aug. 10
3 in Savannah, Ga.
