Committee sets CRC meetings for first Wednesday at 5:30; reviews townships cost-share and facility updates

The Richland County committee voted on June 11 to set future Campus Reconfiguration/Commission on Aging Committee meetings on the first Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. when needed, with a target start of July 1.

Highway Commissioner Josh explained the county’s annual 50/50 cost-share program for townships — the county reimburses 50% for eligible structures 5 feet in diameter or larger — and the committee voted to forward the listed reimbursements (including projects for Eagle Forest at Henrietta) to the full county board for approval (motion by Thompson, second by Welty).

Property management reported a failed hot-water heater at the fairgrounds; staff said a replacement motherboard component had been located and would be installed the following day so hot water would be restored that afternoon. Staff also said one of the new AC units is only half operational pending a pump replacement from the manufacturer and described planned trail work from the campus toward Lone Rock to regrade and roll the surface.

Committee members discussed meeting frequency and times, noting conflicts with afternoon start times for some members; after some options were considered, the committee agreed to the first-Wednesday schedule and asked staff to return with demolition presentation details and process clarifications at the next CRC meeting.
