At its June 11 meeting the Scott County Board of Education approved its consent agenda by roll-call vote, covering a range of routine but operationally significant items.
Among the approvals: the Huntsville Volunteer Fire Department was granted use of the Huntsville Middle School football field as the base for fireworks during the Fireman's Fourth Festival; the board accepted a $17,000 literacy grant from the Dollar General Foundation to support literacy activities; and the board approved payment of TSSE membership dues of $2,798 for the 2026–2027 year.
The board also approved renewals of listed related-services contracts and awarded food and non-food bids for the 2026–2027 school year at the school nutrition director's request. In a separate consent item the board approved a procurement to purchase ice cream from Hershey for the district's nutrition program.
All consent items were adopted by motion and roll call; the recorded votes show the board members present voting in favor. The meeting transcript records minimal debate on these items beyond confirmations that required approvals and insurance naming were in place. Tammy Merritt, staff for Congressman Kushman's office, made a brief announcement to remind residents that constituent services will continue despite redistricting.
