A Doña Ana County staff member announced a weeklong schedule of Fourth of July events at the county fairgrounds beginning Tuesday, June 30, with free admission for attendees.
The county kickoff will begin at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday and include live music, mechanical bull riding, a ninja obstacle course and family activities, capped by an evening drone show, the staff member said. "Admission is free," the staff member added.
On Wednesday at 4:00 p.m., the lineup will feature American Idol’s top 14 contestant Iulianna Girl and other performers, followed by another drone show. Thursday is planned as the final day at the fairgrounds, with live music, vendors and a final drone show; DJ Hex will host a foam party later that evening, according to the announcement.
The staff member also noted related community events: the City of Las Cruces will hold its annual 5K and an electric light parade starting at 9:00 p.m. on July 3. For July 4, LMSU’s Apodaca Park will open gates at 4:00 p.m. for food, games, a kids area, a live concert and fireworks.
The county closed the announcement by reminding residents that the schedule represents a week of activities across county and city venues and encouraging community attendance. For event times and locations, organizers advised consulting Doña Ana County and City of Las Cruces event pages (not specified in the announcement).
