Monmouth County Commissioner Director Tom Orono asked a Long Branch pizzeria to apply for a county promotion, saying the county wants to showcase local restaurants that serve the community.
At a community appearance in Long Branch, attendees recalled that the pizzeria has served the neighborhood for more than 50 years and had earlier operated under a different name. Residents said they remembered visiting the shop as children during school lunches and described it as a long-standing neighborhood business.
"We want to showcase your pizzeria in our slice in Monmouth, but for that to happen, we need you to go to a website and fill out a form so Monmouth County can promote your pizza establishment," Tom Orono said, identifying himself as Monmouth County Commissioner Director. He asked owners to complete the county's online form so their business can be included in the county promotion.
Event participants emphasized the importance of small businesses to the county’s economy and thanked the restaurant's owners for their longevity in the community. One attendee noted the shop previously operated as "Roselli's." The transcript did not specify the exact website address or form fields; those details were not provided during remarks.
The next step, as stated by the commissioner, is for interested businesses to complete the county’s online form so Monmouth County can include them in its promotional program.
