At its June 11 meeting, the Lewisville Town Council approved a package of municipal service contracts that cover grounds maintenance, landscape care, street sweeping, police services and finance software.
Finance Manager Pam Oral presented the contracts and staff reports. Council awarded municipal grounds and right-of-way mowing to Lawnmasters of the Triad for $76,654 and landscape maintenance to Tuser Horticulture for $96,632. Council also approved a three-year street-sweeping contract with McCoy Services: $25,800 per year for downtown sweeping and $19,800 per year for residential sweeping.
Council also approved a three-year contract with the county sheriff's office for community policing. Town staff notified council the contract amount for next fiscal year is $1,133,920 after a reduction of about $12,340 that morning; the town adjusted revenue projections in the budget accordingly. Pam Oral explained staff lowered two revenue lines (Mary Alice Warren Community Center rentals and ABC board revenue) to keep the budget balanced after the policing contract reduction.
The council approved a three-year conversion and maintenance contract with Harris Local Government for finance software at a total cost of $70,324. Council members asked staff to ensure contractors follow safety protocols while performing duties such as weed-eating near public spaces.
Most contract votes were unanimous; council discussed year-over-year provider continuity and requested staff oversight on contractor safety and performance.
