Portage County commissioners approved a package of routine administrative and fiscal actions during their June 11 meeting, including authorization to process prior bills and payments, approval of a budget amendment, and several procurement and personnel-related actions.
The board voted to authorize the auditor's office to process bills, ACH payments and journal vouchers for June 4, 2026, contingent on verification by the county auditor and review by the Department of Budget and Financial Management. Commissioners then approved a budget amendment presented by the department.
Other approvals included authorization to submit a FY2027 Ohio Department of Youth Services subsidy (Reclaim Ohio) grant application on behalf of the Portage County Juvenile Court; a motion to declare a Chevrolet Tahoe obsolete and to lease a 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe for the Portage County Sheriff's Department; and acceptance of specifications and a bid date for a computer-assisted mass appraisal system (Grama) for the county auditor's office. The board also accepted a proposal and authorized an agreement with BRAIT Engineering Services for an HVAC study of the Portage County Administration Building.
The meeting record shows the routine roll-call votes were affirmative. The commissioners also acknowledged a series of intake and disposition reports from animal-control operations and approved a reappointment to the Portage County District Library Board of Trustees.
The actions move forward administrative and procurement steps; specific implementation timelines and contract details will be handled by the appropriate county offices and departments.
