Mitchelville Freedom Park to host Juneteenth weekend with Stokley headlining

Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park on Hilton Head Island will mark Juneteenth with a weekend of events including a children's drum camp (3:005:00 p.m.), a Juneteenth drum circle (5:307:30 p.m.), and a full-day celebration on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the county bulletin said. Activities will include food trucks and traditional Gullah cuisine, community storytelling, dance contests, youth performances and live music throughout the day.

The program opens with a traditional libation ceremony.
