Superintendent Carrie presented personnel updates that the board accepted as part of the meeting’s communications and consent agenda. She announced forthcoming resignations (including a driver and several teachers and support staff), named recent hires (two food service substitutes), and detailed several transfers and instructional nominations across district schools.
Carrie introduced Adam Sakura as the district’s new adult education director; she outlined his seven years of experience in SAD 49 (Fairfield), his BA in business and master’s in adult education and higher education, and praised his collaborative approach. The superintendent also introduced Gretchen Curtis as the new pre-K special education assistant director, noting her background in early childhood and special education, TCI training, and prior experience in another district.
The consent agenda included approval of multiple job description revisions, reappointments for the 2026–27 school year, instructional nominations (including named hires for social studies, special education and science teaching posts), and a number of finance committee recommendations; the consent agenda passed on a motion by Crystal with Kyle seconding.
The board did not debate individual hires in depth during the meeting beyond the introductions and the superintendent’s remarks; those personnel actions were recorded as approved in the consent agenda vote.
