Planning commission reschedules July meeting and welcomes new secretary

The South Russell Village Planning Commission voted on June 11 to move its July meeting from July 9 to July 16, 2026. Commissioners said the change will better align planning commission review with a Board of Zoning Appeals meeting scheduled for July 15 and give applicants time to provide additional materials.

Commissioners also introduced Colleen Lair, who joined staff the previous week and will assume secretary duties on July 31. The planned swearing-in of Tanner was deferred because his appointment requires formal approval by the village council; commissioners said Tanner will be sworn in before he first fills a meeting seat.

Commissioners confirmed the new July 16 meeting will be the likely date to revisit items that require coordination with the BZA and to review any materials applicants provide in the interim.
