Norfolk County commissioners on May 21 approved routine personnel actions, payroll and expense warrants, and renewed an intermunicipal agreement for weights-and-measures inspectional services.
Personnel: The board approved a motion not to rehire Edward Bourney McDivet as a seasonal golf associate and approved contingent seasonal appointments for Matthew Kissiel and Karen Wilson, effective May 22, 2026. The board also approved student-labor and substitute-instructor appointments at the North County Agricultural High School and accepted several resignations; motions were seconded and recorded as unanimous.
Warrants: Commissioners approved county payroll warrant 26-46 in the amount of $147,169.70 and a series of expense warrants and school warrants as announced during the meeting; motions carried without recorded opposition.
Intermunicipal agreement: The board approved a three-year renewal of an intermunicipal agreement with the town of Needham for weights-and-measures services, effective July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2029, at the same fees cited in the agreement; the town manager had endorsed the renewal.
Meeting close: County director John reported active recruitment for electrician, plumber and deputy facility director positions and reminded commissioners about the holiday and agenda-posting schedule. The board adjourned at 1:37 p.m. and will meet next Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.
