Facilities Director David Parsons and staff reviewed recent maintenance work and a list of planned summer projects, providing cost estimates and timeline expectations.
Parsons reported completed work such as field weed control, storm-basin cleaning and localized roof repairs. He said an asbestos/hazardous-materials assessment for demolition of the old grandstand at Sublimity yielded an abatement quote of about $24,000; Parsons said the district is gathering bids for abatement and demolition and anticipates additional grading/fill work afterward. He also reported an estimated retube for one boiler at about $45,000 and noted ongoing work on fire-sprinkler repairs, inspections required to meet pacer/inspection standards, gym-floor refinishing and concession-stand repairs.
Facilities staff discussed permitting, engineering and site-prep line items for recent projects and noted some work should be completed under warranty or come in under the upper estimates. Parsons also flagged staffing vacancies in maintenance positions and thanked the board for support.
What happens next: staff will continue to collect contractor bids for the grandstand abatement/demolition, schedule needed inspections and proceed with the summer scope to be completed during the break.
