The Prescott Valley Town Council on June 11 unanimously approved two infrastructure contracts and reappointed multiple board and commission members.
Public Works Engineer John Labour presented the Cattle Track Pedestrian Drainage Improvements project (CIP ST2501), describing a continuation of sidewalks and drainage work to connect neighborhoods to Analopee Park and nearby schools. Labour said the packet listed funding sources including CDBG, HERF, stormwater and water‑enterprise funding, that seven bids were received and that Lion Engineering recommended award to the apparent low bidder, Judco LLC. The council voted to award a construction contract to Judco LLC with a 10% contingency for $1,187,271.
Senior Utilities Engineer James Warren described the Fire Hydrant Additions Program (CIP CI2604), saying the town identified 16 hydrant locations in older areas that have spacing greater than current code, and that bids were advertised in May with four bids received. Warren said the project is scheduled for about 90 days and requested a budget transfer within the water enterprise fund to cover costs. The council approved awarding a construction contract to Earth Resources Corporation for $219,279 and the requested budget transfer; the vote was unanimous.
Council also approved a package of reappointments: Ambles to the Library Board of Trustees through June 30, 2029; Denise Atwood and David Smith to the Building Board of Appeals (terms to July 31, 2028); and Zachary Moss and Tim Griffin to the Parks, Arts and Recreation Commission through June 30, 2029. All reappointments passed on unanimous votes.
The Cattle Track project presentation noted elements including ADA‑compliant curb ramps, curbing and gutter, sidewalk, asphalt resurfacing, drainage improvements and installation of three new fire hydrants paid for in coordination with utilities; staff stated that the project budget included a 10% contingency. The hydrant program listed 16 locations, a preference for mains 6 inches or larger and traffic control during construction.
Clerk calls for votes recorded each motion as passing unanimously; no dissent or abstentions were recorded during the meeting.
