At its June 11 meeting the Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Local Board of Education approved a consent agenda that included certificated and administrative personnel actions (hires, resignations, leaves of absence), pupil-activity contracts, and summer intervention contracts.
The board also approved advancing the purchase of three buses this year so the district will receive six new buses (administration said the earlier plan had been to buy three next year but EPA engine changes for 2027 models encouraged the earlier purchase). Administration reported the district has collected approximately 98% of anticipated revenues for the fiscal year and that expenditures are near 86% of budgeted levels to date.
Other approved items included the middle school's 2026 summer transition camp and extended school year (ESY) programming, and out-of-state travel for a high-school biomedical career center team with students and an instructor listed on the travel request. Votes on these items were recorded by roll call with the voting members present recorded as affirmatives (the roll-call names recorded in the transcript were Mr. Kinsey, Mr. Price, Dr. Prior and Mrs. Anderson).
The board also introduced newly hired staff in open session, including a new third-grade teacher (introduced as Mrs. Paul) and a full-time safety staff member, Mark Major. No funding appropriations or levy actions were taken at the meeting; the items approved were operational and personnel in nature and were passed by roll-call votes as recorded in the minutes.
