Henry County council sets budget hearing dates for Aug. 26'28

Councilors and staff discussed different timing options for departmental budget hearings and said the county would use liaison presentations for smaller departments and in-person liaison meetings for large departments such as sheriff, highway, parks and health.

After checking availability, the council set preliminary budget-hearing dates for Aug. 26, 27 and 28 with meetings generally scheduled 8 a.m.'4 p.m. Baker Tilly will present the five-year compensation report the morning of Aug. 26. Councilors noted the public-hearing and adoption timeline requires a 10-calendar-day notice before adoption steps.

Staff will coordinate schedules with department liaisons and circulate a shared calendar to finalize department timeslots.
