Council approves community survey to guide splash‑pad and playground work

Staff explained that full recirculation systems require operator staffing and additional water testing similar to pool operations, which would raise operating costs; the proposed short survey aims to balance brevity (to maximize responses) with collecting usable feedback. Estimated conceptual costs for a full rebuild were discussed in the packet (rough estimates previously ranged near $992,000 before scope adjustments) but no funding was requested at this meeting.

Council approved the survey and staff’s plan to bring results back in August; members suggested outreach via QR codes at the park, social media, service groups and yard signs to maximize participation.
