The Albemarle County Electoral Board on June 11 adopted a resolution formally commending Alexander “Alex” Branch for his service to the county’s Office of Voter Registration and Elections and announced recent staff changes.
The board praised Branch’s work preparing voting equipment, assigning officers of election and supporting day-to-day election administration and entered the resolution into the official minutes. The motion to adopt the resolution passed by voice vote; no roll-call tally was recorded in the meeting minutes.
Registrar Janelle announced that the office hired a new chief deputy, Richard Smythe, and that Andrea is serving as Senior Assistant Registrar and supervising the other assistant registrars. Board members welcomed the new staff and asked that an organizational chart be provided at the next meeting so members and the public can see reporting lines and responsibilities.
Board members and staff said they appreciated Branch’s contributions and noted his new role as a general registrar in another locality. The resolution will be presented to Branch as a token of the board’s appreciation. The board took the action by voice vote and affixed the resolution to the official record.
