Council accepts Ward 3 resignation; member nominates Stephanie Wirtz as replacement

Council accepted the resignation of Ward 3 council member Clay Ginrick, who told colleagues he and his family are moving their primary residence out of the borough and are relinquishing his seat effective June 15, 2026.

"Please accept this letter as my official resignation from Hollidaysburg Borough Council effective 06/15/2026," Ginrick read during the meeting and nominated Stephanie Wirtz as his suggested replacement.

Councilors moved to accept the resignation under borough code procedures and carried the motion by voice vote. Ginrick said he had already spoken with Wirtz and thought she would be a capable replacement; he abstained from action on the appointment itself due to his resignation. Council will follow the borough code on interim appointment procedures and said it would consider the nomination at a forthcoming meeting.
