Tropical Smoothie at 3020 Cranberry Highway receives permanent certificate of occupancy after completing punch list

After reconsideration at the end of the June 10 meeting, the Wareham Zoning Board of Appeals issued a permanent certificate of occupancy for Tropical Smoothie at 3020 Cranberry Highway after confirming outstanding exterior painting was completed.

At an earlier hearing the board had issued a temporary CO and listed minor outstanding items (curbing repairs, a wall paint job and a remaining planting obligation). Phil Cordiero and staff had recommended holding final sign‑off until the paint was applied.

Owner John Hines told the board they had become aware of the as‑built fence issue but were willing to move the fence and finish outstanding items. After photos were shown to the board confirming the painting was done, a motion to issue the permanent certificate of occupancy carried unanimously.

What happens next: The building department will process the permanent CO once staff confirms paperwork; any remaining minor punch‑list items remain the contractor’s responsibility under the terms set at the hearing.
