Planning board approves boatlift permit and a new Tranquility Drive house

The Town of Highland Beach Planning Board approved two development applications on June 11 after staff presentations and brief public comment. Town planner Ingred Allen presented a special-exception request from Eileen Gonzalez / Reezy Permits LLC to install a 24,000-pound-capacity boatlift at 4304 Intra Coastal Drive, outlining the survey, proposed setbacks, and packet correspondence. The public hearing included a sworn comment from Rose Amataro seeking clarification about which property was under consideration; staff clarified parcel differences. The board moved and approved development order PZ-26-6-SPEX by roll-call vote with Vice Chair David, Members Mendelson, Brown, Bobby, Pal, and Chair Rosen voting yes.

Later the board considered site-plan application PZ-26-5 for a new two-story 5,636-square-foot single-family residence with pool and spa at 431 Tranquility Drive. Allen reviewed the floor plans, elevations, tree-disposition plan (11 trees to be removed; none specimen), and the landscape/irrigation plans noting nine new trees proposed. The applicant’s authorized agent, Tali Papus, was present; no substantive opposition was recorded. The board approved the site plan on a roll-call vote (Vice Chair David, Members Pal, Brown, Bobby, Mendelson, and Chair Rosen voted yes).

Both approvals were recorded as final actions by the planning board at the meeting and will proceed to the usual permitting and building-review processes.
