The Henrico County School Board used part of its June 11, 2026 meeting to recognize student achievement, career-technical partnerships and the service of an outgoing administrator.
Superintendent Dr. Cashwell highlighted the Class of 2026, saying the division awarded nearly 3,500 diplomas and that roughly 66% of graduates earned an advanced studies diploma. He also noted that 90 seniors in Advanced College Academy programs earned an associate degree through Reynolds Community College and that high school career-technical education students earned approximately 5,000 career credential certificates.
"HCPS is home to exceptional students with diverse interests and abilities," Dr. Cashwell said as the board observed ceremony highlights and read several graduates' names.
M. Baiton, director of workforce and career development, presented the Virginia School Boards Association Business Honor Roll and introduced representatives from local businesses that support internships and hands-on learning, including representatives from Caliper Collision and EMC Mechanical Services.
The board also recognized Adrien Cole Johnson for her service to Henrico County Public Schools. Board members offered personal remarks of thanks and best wishes for Johnson's next position. "Adrienne, such a joy to work with you," said Mrs. Shay, a board member who thanked Johnson for expanding family and community engagement.
The board approved its consent agenda later in the meeting and adjourned; no formal votes on academic policy or budget matters were taken during the recognitions portion of the agenda.
