The Immigration Canyon Planning Commission on June 11 tabled consideration of a proposed amendment to the land-use fee schedule (OAM2026-001636) to the July meeting, after commissioners requested a presentation. The motion to table carried unanimously.
Commissioners then reviewed and approved draft minutes for meetings on December 11, 2025; January 8 and March 12, 2026, agreeing on typographical fixes and small wording changes to clarify when items related to road widening were discussed.
Staff reported active recruitment for one planning-commission alternate and two alternate positions, noting applications will be accepted until filled. The mayor and staff plan a short ordinance amendment to add alternates if needed.
Commissioners and staff discussed community interest in a proposed road-widening study. A commissioner reported that Avenues consultants are conducting a bicycle-safety–focused study covering roughly 1.8 miles of canyon roadway, and a canyon-wide open house is scheduled for June 30. City attorney Claire cautioned that many public concerns reflect misunderstandings about right-of-way and how road modifications proceed; she said legal title and the public nature of the road mean surveys or historic discrepancies generally will not change the city or UDOT's authority to move forward on a project. "The concerns about the right of way are largely a result of misinformation of how right of way works," Claire said.
The commission closed the meeting after brief additional business.
