On May 12, 2026, at a special meeting of the Town of Marlborough Commission on Aging, Senior Center Director Shoshana Merced reported increases in membership and use of center services for April.
Merced told commissioners that 91 individuals checked into programs or received social services in April and that 16 new members joined. She said the center hosted two educational programs'Scam Prevention and What Is and Isn't Dementia'and that transportation was used by eight individuals for a total of 50 one-way trips. Meals on Wheels deliveries were recorded for one individual during the month.
The director said the center purchased new chairs funded by a grant from the Marlborough Greater Together community fund and that she attended the T.E.A.R.S. Annual Elder Abuse conference as part of staff professional development. Merced also presented membership data comparing 2025 and 2026 figures, showing an increase in total active members from 56 to 90, Marlborough members from 38 to 159, and non'Marlborough members from 18 to 52, as recorded in the meeting minutes.
Chair Peggy Golfin and commissioners discussed administrative implications and next steps for tracking program participation and grant-funded purchases. The meeting record shows no public comments on the report.
