John Atinson presented two curriculum adoptions to the Lexon School District 4 board and recommended the board adopt both materials for phased implementation.
“I'm bringing to you tonight two curriculums for you to consider,” Atinson said, describing 95 RAP as a reading curriculum for special‑education students in kindergarten through eighth grade and English 3D as a multilanguage curriculum for grades 1–12. He said school teams researched vendors and met with experts before recommending the materials as “high‑quality instructional materials.”
A board member moved to adopt the recommended curricula and a second was recorded; the motion passed by voice vote. The board directed that implementation be gradual so teachers receive training and supports before full classroom use.
The administration said 95 RAP will be implemented in K–8 special education settings and that English 3D was selected to provide structure for multilingual (ML) teachers and to better prepare ML students for the district’s state assessments. The presenter said the ML curriculum is intended not only to support test performance but also to help ML learners “acclimate better in their core content classes.”
Board members did not record amendments to the motion. The board approved adoption as presented; no roll‑call vote was recorded in the transcript.
The next procedural step described by staff is a phased rollout with professional development for teachers during the upcoming school year.
