CPDC tables reorganization, notes resignation and approves minutes; ADU bylaw work planned

The CPDC on June 8 tabled formal board reorganization until the body’s July meeting and noted recent membership changes and administrative housekeeping.

Members said they will delay reorganization while new appointees arrive. The meeting record shows the CPDC received notice that member Andrew Mclofflin has resigned and that two seats are open; the volunteer appointment subcommittee is accepting applications and expects appointments later in June.

Board members asked staff to prepare a roster and run quorum calculations ahead of the next meeting so the CPDC can confirm it has voting members available for upcoming items, including special permits. Staff agreed to prepare that list with the town clerk.

The board also approved the May 11 meeting minutes by motion and voice vote. Members briefly discussed accessory apartment (ADU) bylaw amendments — staff and members said they will pull forward earlier work and draft language for future meetings while application volume is lower.

In project updates, Andrew McNichol reported that High Street construction is underway: the late‑spring contract was awarded to Markeesian & Suns Contracting, crews began three to four weeks ago and are doing underground utilities (drainage, conduits) before above‑ground street and sidewalk work, and the town will provide more proactive notices to businesses about signage and detours.

Before adjourning the board publicly thanked member Hillary Mativ for her service to the CPDC. The board then voted to adjourn.
