Crow Wing County board accepts HA resignation and will stop asking speakers for street addresses

The Crow Wing County Board accepted the resignation of Michael Ali from the HA board (District 5) and agreed to issue a certificate of appreciation; Commissioner Lee said he is seeking a replacement and the matter will return to the board when a nominee is identified.

Separately, commissioners discussed whether public commenters should continue to give street addresses. Citing concerns about threats to public officials and public figures, commissioners noted the meeting video makes spoken addresses publicly available and agreed to update the public‑forum form so speakers will state their name and their city, township or district rather than a full street address. County staff said the minutes do not record street addresses and that the change will be reflected in the county’s public‑forum procedures and forms.
