Bernards Township recognized three Eagle Scouts for volunteer projects that improved trails and access at the Environmental Education Center.
Christie read three separate resolutions (2026-295, 2026-297 and 2026-298) honoring Shaun Griffin, Chase Lynch and Arya Parthabon for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. The resolutions describe projects including a 50-foot boardwalk extension along the Yellow Trail, revival of the Batcave boardwalk and the design and installation of 10 portable 12-foot boardwalk sections to traverse muddy terrain.
Committee members praised the scouts'leadership and community service. Committeeman Hodes said the volunteers'work "builds the foundation of a strong connected community," and Committeeman McNally thanked the scouts for improving the Environmental Education Center, which hosts township summer-camp programs.
Each resolution was moved and approved; the three scouts spoke from the dais, each thanking family, troop leaders and volunteers. One scout said, "We definitely couldn't have done it without our family, friends, and troop." The committee presented the resolutions and invited family members to join for photos.
The commendations highlight ongoing public benefits from scout-led volunteer projects and the township acknowledged scout leaders and families at the meeting.
