The West Lafayette Com School Corp Board of Trustees voted to award the junior–senior high school chiller contract to DA Dodd LLC, approving the base bid, selected alternates and a letter of intent that allows the contractor to secure materials, labor and insurance while the final AIA contract is prepared.
Board members said Creative Engineering identified DA Dodd as the lowest and most responsive bidder among three proposers. The board asked administration to proceed with the contract process, to be overseen by John Becker of Church, Hittle & Antrim.
A motion to approve the administration’s recommendation was made and seconded; the board conducted a voice vote in which seven members voted yes. No dissenting votes were recorded on the record.
The approval directs staff to finalize contract documents and move forward with procurement and project scheduling. The board did not specify a construction start date in the meeting; administration will report back with contract details and timelines.
