Board hears finance and facilities reports; member announces resignation effective July 31

The board heard routine administrative reports and several trustee updates, and accepted a formal resignation from a long‑serving member effective July 31, 2026.

Mrs. Roth reported claims for the period May 5 through June 3, 2026 totaled $4,578,215.13, and salaries and benefits for the period totaled $3,470,663.42. A final fund report for April 2026 showed total funds on hand of $25,941,168.79, with an education fund balance of $8,440,194.86. She explained that federal and state grant funds can temporarily show negative balances because the district expends funds first and requests reimbursement later.

In superintendent and trustee reports, members noted progress on the public safety center and Fire Station 3 expansion, described listening sessions for an early‑childhood education center, and noted Lummel Park restroom work targeted for June 30. A trustee announced a resignation effective July 31, citing relocation outside district boundaries and reflecting on 12 years of service, three referendums and multiple capital projects during their tenure.

The board agreed to accept resumes from interested residents to fill the vacancy through the end of June and aims to appoint a replacement at the July 20 meeting, with August as a fallback if needed. Trustees set the next regular meeting for July 20 at 5:00 p.m. and adjourned.
