The Waunakee Community School District board approved its second draft of the budget, ratified fund balances and adopted budget revisions for fiscal year 25‑26, and renewed the lease for the Wisconsin Youth Company after‑school program.
Ally, who presented the budget updates, told the board the second draft incorporated recently released grant allocations and updates to food service (Fund 50) after the meal price changes approved at the prior meeting. “The only changes in the second draft were grant allocations that were released,” Ally said. The board moved, seconded and approved the second draft by voice vote.
Administrators also asked the board to approve fund balances and budget revisions; staff said those revisions reflected a $1.1 million end‑of‑year balance that included an IRS clean‑energy rebate connected to solar and geothermal work at district schools. The board approved the fund balances and the 25‑26 budget revisions.
Separately, the board renewed a lease with Wisconsin Youth Company for after‑school services, increasing the fee from $3,000 to $3,100 per building. That lease was approved by voice vote.
Board members asked for detail when necessary and were encouraged to bring any items needing further review to committee, including potential policy committee review of transportation‑adjacent budget questions.
