The Agricultural Labor Relations Board approved the minutes from its May 27, 2026 meeting after a motion from Member Broad and a second from Member Lightstone.
"So moved," Member Broad said when the chair asked for a motion; the motion carried after the board voted "I." The secretary recorded the minutes as approved.
Executive Secretary Santiago Aila Gomez gave a brief executive officer's report noting there were no new unfair labor practice complaints since the prior meeting and citing an administrative order in Olive Hill Green Houses, Inc. (ALRB administrative order number 2026-06; underlying case 2024 MMC-00002). Gomez also listed three pending matters before the board: a CYMA Orchids Corporation matter (regional director submitted a statement in support of a proposed bilateral settlement on May 29, underlying case 2023-CE016-sal), Trifanuki Farms (revised makehole specification filed June 1, 2026; answers due June 16, 2026; cases 2013 CE00008-VIS and 2013 CE014-VIS), and Wonderful Nurseries LLC (majority support petition objections hearing 2024 RM00002).
General Counsel Julie Montgomery summarized two Region 1 settlements since the last board meeting. The first involved Taylor Farms and an associated company (Valley Pride) resolving a 2025 charge with a payment of $3,668 to the charging party, which included roughly $2,168 in back pay and the remainder in lieu of reinstatement plus standard notice remedies. The second settlement with J&G Berry Farms in Santa Maria produced standard notice remedies and no back pay. Montgomery also highlighted outreach efforts — office hours in Greenfield, a one‑stop clinic in Coachella, advocacy training and radio interviews — aimed at increasing worker access to ALRB services.
No litigation report was given and the board recessed into closed session after the public‑comment period.
