The Lamprey Mobile Health Clinic, operated in partnership with the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, marked its one-year anniversary with a community event in Exeter.
A representative of Lamprey Health Care said the program has been "a wonderful year celebrating our growing partnership" with Saint Vincent de Paul and that the mobile unit has allowed the organization to have a visible presence "in the community outside of our health center itself." When asked how successful the van has been, the representative said it was "enormously successful" and stated, "to date, we have seen 111 individuals on our mobile health unit."
A representative of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul said the group is "not just a food pantry, but a community resource center," and described Lamprey’s regular visits as "a great thing" that helps the organization serve neighbors who need access to care. Both speakers emphasized that the partnership helps reach people who cannot make it into the health center and that volunteers and staff share motivations to expand services.
The partnership offers walk-up services at the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul's site at 53 Lincoln Street. According to the transcript, the mobile clinic is present every Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Organizers said they hope to grow the program and attract additional partner organizations to provide "whole person care" and serve a larger portion of neighboring communities. No funding sources, licensing details, or specific program expansions were specified in the transcript.
The celebration was described as a community event marking the van’s first year of operation; the account in the transcript focused on service numbers, community response and plans to continue weekly visits.
